Day 1 Content
Meeting with your guide at the Tbilisi airport. Carry to the hotel. After register you will have free time. Dinner and spend the night in Tbilisi.
Day 2 Content
After breakfast at the hotel we will have Tbilisi city tour. This tour involves visiting Holy Trinity Cathedral, Abanotubani (historical part of Tbilisi), Narikala (ancient fortress built in 4th century), wondering Valley of Waterfall (known also as a Fig Waterfall, because in the past this area was full of fig trees), Clock Tower. We will also walk throuhg the ‘wadden row’: one of the oldest streets in Old Tbilisi with characterisitic savour and architecture. After city tour we will have a meeting at the hotel with your mountain guide. Carry to Stephantsminda (170km / 2,5 hours). Spend the night at a hotel in Stephantsminda.
Day 3 Content
This day we will climb to Bethlehem asylum (3650 m).
At 7-8 a.m. (after breakfast) we will drive to Sameba Church (2200 m) and then walk about 12 km (it will take approximately. 5-6 hours) to campsite located at an altitude 3650 m. Horses will carry to our luggages. Spend the night in Bethlehem shelter.
Day 4 Content
Acclimatisation day.
We will walk to 3900 m or a bit higher. We will start at about 11 a.m. and walk aproximately. 3km (1-2 hours) to the Small Temple of the Holy Trinity church. Later visiting the church we will backward the Bethlehem shelter. After dinner (which will be served at 3 p.m.) we will practice skills essential to climb to the summit (rope work, ice axe arrest etc.). Spend the night in Bethlehem shelter.
Day 5 Content
Summit Day. Bethlehem shelter (3650 m) – Summit – Bethlehem shelter (approximately 10-12 hours walk).
We will start early in the morning, at 1-3 a.m. (depends on the weather provisions) and walk to Plato (4500m / 4 hours approximately). From Plato we will ascent to Saddle (4900 m at 30 degrees). From Saddle to Summit at 40-45 degrees. Come back to Bethlehem shelter (3650 m). During the walk from 3900m to the summit and backward 3900 m, the group will be roped due to crevasses. Night in Bethlehem shelter (3650 m).
Day 6 Content
Come back to Sameba Church (4-5 hours walking). Come back to Tbilisi and accommodation at the hotel.
Farewell Dinner in restaurant. Spend the night in Tbilisi.
Day 7 Content
Carry to the Tbilisi airport.
